Dave and Fat Lady- Thanks to you both for your support. Feel free to spread the word about my campaign- you never know who may want to be a part of taking back our government. Donations help pay for things like printing and postage and can really make a difference.

a word of campaign advice - you may want to think about hiring someone to do a website. your blog is a little messy. constructive criticism only! not saying it to be nasty! campaigning is marketing.

good luck!

Ricardo- Thanks for the link and the good wishes. I'm happy to accept your donations too if you want to help out. Visit www.ken4congress2006.com and drop by the "donate" page.

Ugly American- Not sure on that exchange, but if good wishes were dolalrs, I'd have quite the war chest. Care to help out? See the comment above.

Anon- I do have a campaign website. You must have skipped that sentence. Again, it's

Ken...I am so jazzed that you are running for a political office. I can't think of anyone who would better serve "the People". You are very brave to jump into the churning, dirty waters of current American politics. I only wish that you were running in our district. Unfortunately, we've had to suffer Duncan Hunter for many years. In light of the recent Cunningham scandal, this may be the year we finally get to "dump Duncan".

Good Luck, KWW

Sam and Mike- Thanks to you both for you good wishes and support.

KWW- Thanks to you too. And I don't think of this campaign as brave, only as necessary. I think we need to break the corrupt two party system by injecting real Americans into the mix, people who are not a part of the status quo but who really want to help turn this country around.
You're pretty close to me geographically...any help you can offer to spread the word of my campaign is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I do as well, though I'm in the city.

Ken, where can I get the html for a button? Would love to post one on my blog..

Love

(Would also love to be able to vote for you! One day maybe.. until then, you get all my good vibes and thoughts and prayers, etc.. for your run.)

Thodora- Thanks anyway. I always enjoy my visits to B.C.

Mike- Thanks for the link and support. If I make the ballot, I'll still need volunteers to get the word out. Maybe you can help then.

Jackthepumpkinking- Thing is, I've been doing this a bit longer than you. Still, if it means so much to be king, go ahead. I don't mind. Common Sense is also knowing when not to overreact.

Chandira- you can get one on my campaign site www.ken4congress2006.com
or by clicking on the button right under the profile box at this site.

And thanks for the good wishes. Good to hear from you again.

I wish you the best of luck. Although, from what I have read, you are more left than I can appreciate I strongly support changing the current political structure. Both Dem and Rep are only thinking about their own interests and we need people who will put the public before the personal.

At 3:42 PM, Blogger Chandira said...

Thanks Ken, got it.. (I looked but must've walked right past it..

Gosh, the blogging community is all so proud of you!! :-)

Martian- Updated some time ago. A recipricating link would be nice!

Travel Italy- Thanks. Change is indeed necessary, no matter which party you sit in. The current crop of pol's are abysmal in their duty as public servants.

Chandira- Thanks. If only the blogging community could offer more than just good wishes. I'm having a tough time as an independent. Still, I'll push on until the end.

Mike- "He" is me. Check out the campaign site and contact me if you want more information.

Ken, you know I respect your point of view and I'm sure we're on the same page on a lot of political issues, but what you're doing is a little looney... and I don't mean to rain on your parade or anything.. but really think about what you're doing.

I've been considering this sort of thing, and frankly, and unseasoned independent is not going to win a Congressional election, period. You may simply be making a political statement by doing it, but you certainly are going to affect nothing.

If you're serious, here's what I think you should do. Run for local elections as a Democrat. To win a national election, you'll need party support. You'll have to work within the party in order to bring the sort of change you want.

And once you get a name for yourself as a serious politician, then you can appeal to the left wing netroots. Imagine how much backing you'd get if a blogger runs for Congress, but the netroots are not moonbat left wingers. They are serious about what they are doing, and how they can affect politics. Credibility means a lot.

In anycase.. good luck..

Bob- I've been to your site and think you offer some good points of view. I'll be updating my blog roll soon and will keep you in mind- thanks for the link!

Tom- Good to hear from you again. Yeah, I'm a little bit nutty trying to run as an independent, as I've been finding out. It's no easy row to hoe. My disgust with what the democrat party has not done led me to go independent, but that pretty much locks the door altogether. Surprisingly, the left wing bloggers (and even some from the right) have given me a ton of support. It's the local MSM that has made visibility all but non-existent. Thanks for the tips though. I'll keep that in mind when considering my next step if this fails to bear fruit.

Ken, as a lifelong indie, I wish you luck. I notice Kevin from Indie Castle's been through here but I don't see any links to what I think are the good indie sites. Perhaps you know about them and got what info you could but didn't link them. They've been helpful in my networking efforts to get on the street and help. Stop by my site and check out my blogroll.

Talksmart- Thanks, and I'd love to comment on a parliamentary form of government once I've done a little more research on the topic.

Dana- Yes...too bad. But thanks for dropping by and offering your support.

Jessica- I'll try to check out that link.

Zebster- Thanks for the support. I wish I had more people close by who offered as much support as the blogosphere has.
